Goldberg's professional correspondence, ca. 1940s-1979, with colleagues in the field of mental retardation and special education, students, publishers, schools, and educational organizations including the Council for Exceptional Children, National Association for Retarded Children, New York State Association for Retarded Children, New York City Association for the Help of Retarded Children, and the International Association for the Scientific Study of Mental Deficiency, other organizations, and particularly the American Association on Mental Deficiency of which he was President and with which he was involved in other capacities, 1960s-1970s. Also, typescripts of his lectures; clippings and reprints of articles by and about him; correspondence, reports, conference proceedings, and miscellaneous documents relating to conferences and meetings he attended; correspondence relating to trips; and correspondence, passports, school reports, and photographs relating to his personal and family life. Of note is a file containing reports, statements, flyers, clippings, press releases, and miscellaneous documents, ca. 1968-1972, relating to the "Columbia Crisis," (student militancy over the Vietnam War and other matters).
